Year

Luke 4:19 -

To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

The word in the word ‘year’ gives us a clue what is the acceptable year of the Lord!!!

Remember the context of the above verse is what is preached in the previous verse -

17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

So the context is what he will preach in the ear of those who have an ear to hear what is about to be preached!!!

Luke 13:6-9 -

6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. 7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? 8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: 9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

The acceptable year of the Lord is the year that bears fruit!!!

Jesus says every tree that does not bear fruit will be cast into the fire! So let us take a look at how the tree bears fruit!!!

Matthew 13:1-23

1 The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side. 2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore. 3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; 4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: 5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: 6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: 8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. 9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. 10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. 12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. 13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. 14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. 16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. 17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. 18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. 19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. 20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; 21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. 22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. 23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Yea to hear in the ear, understand and to bear fruit after his own kind (the First Fruit of many) is the acceptable year of the Lord. Amen!!!

Matthew 11:25-30

25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. 26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. 27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Matthew 12:38-45

38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. 39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: 40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. 42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the Wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. 43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. 44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. (All cleaned up) 45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

Matthew 7:21-29

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. 28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: 29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

Mt 10:25 -

It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

Mt 12:25 -

And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

2Co 5:1

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

If we dwell in the Spirit of God as revealed by Jesus Christ we dwell in Gods house that is not made with hands, the household of faith, we dwell In Jesus Christ.

2Co 5:2 -

Heb 3:6 -

But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

1Pe 2:5 -

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

1Co 3:16 -

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

1Co 3:17 -

If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

1Co 6:19 -

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

2Co 6:16 -

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Ephesians 2:14-22

14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

John 2:19-22

19 Jesus answered and said unto them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” 20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? 21 But he spake of the temple of his body. 22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

Galatians 4:17-18

17 They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them. 18 But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you.

NIV

Galatians 4:17-18

17 Those people are zealous to win you over, but for no good. What they want is to alienate you [from us], so that you may be zealous for them. 18 It is fine to be zealous, provided the purpose is good, and to be so always and not just when I am with you.

The concept is simple Paul was warning the Galatians Church that the ones who would have them come back to ways of Judaism (the works of the Law) and were being zealous to win them away from Paul to affect (influence) them.

To seek improper favor ( a Lousy Zeal) because the Judaizers were wooing the Galatians “but not well” that is to say with improper intentions. The heretics want to “exclude” them or cut them off from Paul so that the Galatians would then court the Judaizers’ favor.

But Paul is telling them that the good way to be Zealous is to be affected (influenced by) zeal in a good thing (as dictated by Christ, not the Judaizers) always and not only when he (Paul) is around.

When it comes to the issue of the Spirit of the Law vs. the Letter of the Law The Spirit of the Law leads those who are lead by the Spirit and the Letter of the Law is for those who are lead by the Flesh.

The Letter of the law is applied to those who are still under the law, those who are walking in the flesh, and for those who are walking in the Spirit there is no Law.

This works like a person who having the authority of the Law comes upon another who does not have authority of the Law. Like when Christ comes upon us we are all guilty, however only some are repented sinners (changed in our minds about sin in general) and those who have made confession and have Made Jesus Christ Their Lord are forgiven, but those who have not done so are not yet forgiven.

A paraphrase would be something like a Police Officer who is charged with enforcing the Law has come upon someone who is guilty of committing a minor crime (lets say jaywalking) and the man who is guilty is claiming his innocence and is Lying to the Officer about what is right and what is wrong insulting and offending the officers sense of justice and knowledge of Crime.

This offense is normally a very forgivable offense to a man who admits that he is in the wrong and knows that he does not deserve to be forgiven, however the man who offends the Officers sense of justice and expects to be forgiven (demands it) and Lies to him insulting the Officers intelligence and offending his nature to love the Law (designed for the mans own good by the way) he deserves a ticket because he is not in the right Spirit and does not appreciate the same Law Designed by Love for that mans own welfare, he will not learn from demanded or inappropriate forgiveness. The Officers duty then becomes clear even though he loves mercy and receives much joy from being able to forgive those who are in the right Spirit who are knowing that they do not deserve it. It is the officers duty to protect and serve the public whether they deserve it, appreciate it, want it or not and he will do his duty despite their belief, opinions or unwarranted demands.

The Officer is Jesus, the man on the street is us, the Judge is our Father in heaven and he will Judge anyone who will not listen to Jesus who has told the world what is right and what is wrong.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Law (not the Letter of the Law), and it is the Spirit of the Law that will lead a man to sincere repentance and an honest confession to the one with the authority to forgive or not, as it is written in the Gospels. It is clear in the gospels that many will not receive forgiveness from the Spirit who Spoke in Jesus Christ, despite the opinions, demands, the claims and the lies of some who are not in the right Spirit seen in what Jesus says.

Those who Love and believe in Jesus will keep his commands, those who seek the Gain of forgiveness only in Christ will not keep his ways or his commands and they will seek to save their lives and lose it, while those faithful to Christ will lose their lives for Jesus and the Gospel and find it everlasting. Because they know that after they have done all that Christ has commanded that they are unprofitable servants and have only done their duty, and that they still do not deserve forgiveness, because they are still sinners but have hope for forgiveness (Not the arrogance of demand for forgiveness), because they confess daily and have repented of (changed their Minds about and turned away from) sin and are free from bondage to sin.

It is true that the Lords Mercy is a gift and this gift is a service to us that we can never earn or deserve, but the lord is not a man who will serve someone who demands to be served.

It is the Fathers good pleasure to serve his faithful children, but the children who are of the devil (living as though mercy is a right rather than a privilege) they receive mercy in this world only because (of the harvest) of us who are his, are still here with them as Christ is formed in us, and Us formed in Christ.

No mercy exists for those who will be separated from us, like goats from the sheep, and who are not found in (found in what is written in) the Lambs book of life in the day of Judgment.

Ga 6:9 - Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Heb 12:3 - Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Revelation 2:1-7

1 "To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands: 2 I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. 3 You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. 4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love. 5 Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. 6 But you have this in your favor: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

He will give us the right because we do not yet have it until he gives it to us, we have been saved, we are being saved and we will be saved, but only when Jesus himself decides not us!!!!!!!

This judgment belongs to Christ as our Lord and not to us!
