Matthew 3:13-17 Example

The Example that; ”becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.”

Matthew 3:13-17

13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. 14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? 15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.” Then he suffered him. 16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

It is best to let scripture interpret scripture so I will include some relevant Scriptures before adding my commentary.

John 13:1-17

1 Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. 2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him; 3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; 4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. 5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. 6 Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? 7 Jesus answered and said unto him, “What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.” 8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, “If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. 9 Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. 10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. 11 For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean. 12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? 13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 for I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

“Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.”

16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, “The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.” 17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

1Co 9:14 -

Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel!

“Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.”

Mt 10:25 -

It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord.

“Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.”

If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

Mt 5:48 -

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your’ Father which is in heaven is perfect.

“Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.”

Mt 19:21 -

Jesus said unto him, “If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

“Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.”

God gave all things to his Son Jesus Christ, and came down to earth to give himself to & for us, who are poor in spirit.
(Who could ask for a better example to follow than God the Father in Jesus Christ?)

His example is perfect and when we actively follow His example we are also made perfect by being in his way which is given to us to be in. When we are in the same Spirit as the Saviour we are in salvation and this salvation does not come from the works of anyone else other than Jesus Christ. Please Do not be deceived my beloved brethren, this does not mean that salvation does not exist (dwell) within the works given to us to do by Jesus Christ as we follow his Holy Example. Faith without works is a dead faith and has no part of Jesus Christ or his Gospel. Make no mistake about it; A spirit who will teach men that they do not have to do the works of what Jesus says to do is Antichrist.

The works given to us to do By Jesus Christ is not our works rather the works are made known that they come form God for us to do, and those works are Gods works and they are not ours, because Jesus gave them to us when we ourselves were deaf, dumb and blind and did not know what was righteous to do.

Yes Jesus finished this work of giving us Gods will and know it is for us to follow, because our work begins when his work is finished, Like Father Like Son.
In Genesis we see that Gods work was finished at the end of creation, but that did not mean that creation was left with nothing to do, know did it?

We were left to rest in what he had done for us; the same applies when Jesus Finished the work for a Kingdom that is not of this world. We rest within his works doing his works given to us to do as rest for our souls within a yoke that is light and a burden that is easy.

Following the perfect example to follow and being made new and perfect in his perfect example to follow into a perfect Spirit the only one that is Holy.

Lu 6:40
-

The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

“Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.”

Joh 17:23 -

“I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one “and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.”

Luke 14:25-35

25 And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them, 26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

“Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.”

28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? 29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, 30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. 31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? 32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. 33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

“Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.”

34 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? 35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. “He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.”

31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
Call on Jesus to be an ambassage and desire conditions of peace while God is a great way off because you cannot win the war against the Almighty who is coming with wrath to meet those who will not have Jesus Christ to reign over them.
32
Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.
Forsake all that you have (= surrender unconditionally) to God’s own Son Jesus Christ who has been given all things which will not burn in the lake of fire, and is all things given By the Father into his authority by inheritance.

Do not make the mistake of thinking that we deserve this inheritance, because we are what he has received as his inheritance and we are bought and paid for by Jesus as with a price. The same way as in the parable of a pearl of great price, (Matthew 13:44-52 See below) Jesus is as the merchant man seeking goodly pearls and bought the church having a great price, so too we must be as he is and be willing to forsake all we have (the same way Jesus did) in order to win others into the Spirit of God within Christ and be part of that inherited kingdom of heaven Found in the way of (Spirit within) Jesus Christ who’s example we will all follow and grow into the perfection of Gods own will to produce the Fruits of his very own Spirit, which is Still Alive and well and living in us, so as it is done to us (the Temple, abode and dwelling place of his Spirit) it is done to him who is living in us.

Joh 14:23 -

Jesus answered and said unto him, “If a man loves me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”

Matthew 13:44-52

44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. 45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: 46 who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

“Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.”

47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: 48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. 49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, 50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 51 Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord. 52 Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

In order to Gain the Spirit of God which is everything you must forsake everything!

Quite simply put it boils down to this, that everything in our life is forsaken to receive everything he wishes to give us.

My ‘everything’ is forsaken to receive everything that he will give to me. What a bargain!

Mt 16:25 -

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Mr 8:35 -

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

“Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.”

Lu 9:24 -

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

Lu 17:33 -

Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

The lesson seen here in Matthew 3:15 is that Jesus came to show us the way to die to ourselves in order to live for God and to be Baptized with the baptism that he himself is baptized with.
In Water and in Spirit the same way Jesus himself was baptized also into the will of God.

Mt 3:16 -

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

Mt 20:22 -

But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?

“Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.”

They say unto him, We are able.

Mt 20:23 -

And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

Mr 1:8 -

I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

Joh 4:2 -

(Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

“Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.”

Ac 1:5 -

For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Ac 2:38 -

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

“Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.”

Ac 11:16 -

Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Matthew 4:4 Which Bread?

10/12/2008

Matthew 4:4

Food for the flesh vs. Spiritual food

This teaching by Jesus is easy to understand to Christians and yet it is foolishness to them that have no life (Spirit of God) in them and will perish for a lack of understanding of what is truth.

Matthew 4:4 -

But he answered and said, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

Jesus came with his Gospel word of the kingdom of God so that we could live life abundantly to its fullest.

It is not called living when you eat bread to survive, it is called surviving. Living is when you live by every word that God speaks through Jesus Christ to those who are now under Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior; remember there is no other name by which men are saved. Receive as food for the soul Jesus Christ as the true living Bread and true living water so that you will never hunger and thirst for as long as you are living which will be forever and from your belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Ro 10:17 -

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (The gospel)

First you have to hear the word of God Jesus was sent to speak, and then you have to keep hearing that word of God to live by (John 14:26/15:26) and to live your life to its fullest.

Re 19:13 -

And he was clothed with vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

The only one in our Bible with this title is Jesus Christ.

Let us see what God in scripture, says about eating Bread and having life in us.

Genesis 3:17-19

17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Again bread the bread God speaks of in the above verse is something the flesh needs to survive, so just eating bread alone is called surviving; however if we live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God we can not only survive but we can also live life to its fullest, An abundant, fulfilling Life that is given by God himself through Jesus like Father like Son, to us which are dust formed from the dust, within his own words coming from within his own breath, our breath of life to give us Life from the mouth of Jesus Christ who makes all things new.

John 6:22-71

22 The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were gone away alone; 23 (Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:) 24 When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus. 25 And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither? 26 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. 27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. 28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. 30 They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work? 31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. 32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. 34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. 35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. 36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not. 37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. 38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. 41 The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. 42 And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven? 43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves. 44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. 45 It is written in the prophets, and they shall be all taught of God. (John 14:26) Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. 46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. 47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. 48 I am that bread of life. 49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. 50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. 52 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? 53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. 54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. (See Mt 26:26 & Mr 14:22) 56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. 58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. 59 These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. 60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? 61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? 62 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? 63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. 64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. 65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. 66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. 67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? 68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. 69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. 70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? 71 He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.

(See also the parable of the great wedding feast where we come to receive into us the bread of life and have life in us with his seed [word of God, to bear fruit from the first fruit of many to come] as the bride of Christ at the great wedding feast many are called to. Matthew 22:1-14/Luke 14:15-24/ Matthew 25:1-13)

Joh 1:4 -

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Joh 3:36 -

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Joh 14:6 -

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

1Jo 1:1 - 2

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

1Jo 5:12 -

He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

I am quite sure that the above scripture given to interpret scripture needs no explanation to those who live by every word God spoken through Jesus Christ.

Matthew 4:7 Dare not God

10/13/2008

Matthew 4:7

Mt 4:7 -

Jesus said unto him, “It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”

Tempt - Strong's Number:  1598

  1. to prove, test, thoroughly
  2. to put to proof God's character and power

The meaning of the word Tempt has been changed over Time and like a dare to tempt someone to do something and in the past it was used, to define the testing of a person like when Today we dare someone to do something to tempt them to test them, whether they will do it or not.

Why should we tempt God to leave us in the condemnation that the world is in already by testing him and trying to make God our servant in an attempt to force his hand to save us?

This would be an insulting Lack of Faith on our part to need proof that God Loves us enough to protect us from harm, especially from the harm of our very own choices to bring harm to ourselves.
This insulting Lack of faith in Gods protecting love for us is at the root of what condemns the world in the first place; starting with Adam and Eve not believing Gods one and only warning about eating from the tree of the knowledge of Good and evil.

For the most part even in today’s corrupt standards, A child who would test and force his fathers hand to save him from the harm of his very own choices, [intentional Choices to do himself harm] (Like choosing to sin)  Dishonors his Father. Not only does it dishonor his parents it dishonors the wisdom of a sound mind and displays more than just a touch of insanity.

It is most definitely insane to believe that the Way of Jesus Christ in a mans life is not in that mans best interest or that it (way of Jesus) is not Gods Gift to mankind from a Loving and Caring creator, and make no mistake about it, this (Gospel of Christ) form of love for our best interest is exactly why the Words and the example of Jesus Christ is called Good news.

Jesus himself is the proof positive that God loves us and how could anyone possibly want more than God to give up his only Son to show the entire world his Love for us!

The way of Christ the truth and the Life, is the single most precious Gift to receive from God it is free to us without Price and it comes with the single most greatest responsibility as well; because it comes with the Duty for us to be a Good steward with it and to  increase it and not hide this great treasure (called true riches of a God given gift which is called your God given talent) within ourselves (dust, ground) like in this parable Jesus gave to us.

Matthew 25:14-30

14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. 15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his (talent) several ability; and straightway took his journey. 16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. 17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. 18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. 19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. 20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. 21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. 23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. 26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: 27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. (A user’s fee; so let the treasured Jesus in you be used to bring the profit of more fruits of Jesus the first fruits of many to come [convert] to God) 28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. 29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. 30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The point of this lesson is not to test God to save us from harm arriving to us from our own sinfulness, if we choose to hide the way of Jesus (the treasure and the talent [Spirit] given to us) within our own flesh which is formed from the ground and is also the ground in the parable above.

Matthew 4:10 Love God not things

10/14/2008

Matthew 4:10

8
Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, “Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” 11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

The Lesson above is simple-

Resist the devil, Worship & serve God alone and Satan will flee.

James 4:7 -

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Matthew 4:17 He is at hand.

10/22/2008

Matthew 4:17

From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

The very first thing in Christianity according to Jesus Christ is to repent this is defined as; to change your mind turn away from seeking sin and turn toward seeking God, Gods will and Gods Kingdom of heaven. All of which are revealed by Jesus Christ alone and no other, no matter what these so called famous men of god say, they cannot take his place in revealing what Gods will for us is or what the Kingdom heaven is like, or what the Spirit of God is like. Many will deceive many even the elect if it were possible and have you believe things which are contrary to the way of Christ. However it is like Jesus says if the blind lead the Blind they will both fall into a ditch.

When Jesus says the Kingdom of heaven is at hand he is talking about the place that God dwells in it is a spiritual kingdom that is not of this world.

 Mt 6:10 -

Thy kingdom come Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Mt 13:11 -

He answered and said unto them, because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

Lu 16:16 -

The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

Mt 6:33 -

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Lu 17:20 - 21

And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21 - Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Mt 12:28 -

But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

Mr 1:14 -

Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

Lu 18:17 -

Verily I say unto you, “Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein”.

Joh 3:3 -

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Joh 3:5 -

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Mr 1:15 -

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Mr 4:26 -

And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;

Lu 4:43 -

And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.

Lu 9:2 -

And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

Lu 9:11 -

And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.

Only one Man called Jesus Christ is qualified to show us the will of God and the way of the kingdom of God and if we are showing others what he shows us then it is the Spirit of the father in Jesus (who is also in us) who is showing others and not us.

Mt 10:20
-

For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

Jesus is who shows us the Kingdom of heaven and when Jesus comes into our life truly the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Mt 4:16 -

The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned."

Joh 1:18 -

No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

Joh 3:32 -

And what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony.

Joh 5:37 -

And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.

Joh 6:46 -

Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father.

Joh 14:9 -

Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; so how can you say, "Show us the Father'?

If we want to know what the will of God is then we should seek it in Jesus Christ and only use the rest of scripture to understand him.

John 5:37-47

37 And the Father Himself, who sent me, has testified of me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form. 38 But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe. 39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. 40 but you are not willing to come to me that you may have life. 41 I do not receive honor from men. 42 but I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you. 43 I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. 44 How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God? 45 Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you--Moses, in whom you trust. 46 for if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. 47 but if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?"

Matthew 4:19 The net is?

10/22/2008

Matthew 4:19

And he saith unto them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

Jesus makes it clear that the Gospel (the word of the kingdom of God; See Matthew 4:23 below) that He was sent to preach is like a net. (A net in the hands of disciples/fishers of men gathering fish unto the Lord; See Matthew 13:47-48 below)

Matthew 4:18-22

18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. 21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. 22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.

Jesus was going to give them a new kind of net to fish with called the Gospel of the kingdom and it is one that would gather men unto the Lord by these fishers of men.

Matthew 4:23 -

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

John 21:1-14

3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing. 4 But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus. 5 Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No. 6 and he said unto them,Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. 7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea. 8 And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes. 9 As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread. 10 Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught. 11 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken. 12 Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.

This complimentary (not contradictory) statement written by one of the gospel writers to record events from the original twelve reads.

Luke 5:1-11

1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear

the word of God,

he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, 2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. 3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. 4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. 5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. 6 And when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. 7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. 8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, “Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.” 9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: 10 And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon,

Fear not; from henceforth

 thou shalt catch men.

11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

Lu 13:34 -

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

The point here is that Jesus gives us the gospel of the Kingdom of heaven = the word of God sent in Jesus Christ which is like a net that within fishers of men, gathers men unto the Father God dwelling within Jesus Christ who is also revealed by Jesus Christ for men to see God in humble and spiritual Glory for us to also dwell in, as the Spirit of our father is revealed by Jesus to us in his words and in his loving deeds.
