Basic Christianity & Rule # 1
Jesus The Christ is the only one qualified to say what Christianity is and everyone else who has Jesus as their Lord "by definition" (not themselves or another Jesus created in their own mind) is simply repeating what this Good news for us is. Unless of course like so very many out there today, they are preaching (another Gospel) their own Gospel (Good news) about what Gods will is or what Gods word says.
Jesus does not send men out to preach whatever they want to preach, God forbids it!!!!!!!
Preaching the Gospel is when men are repeating the very same Gospel of Christ when they Hear, Believe and Obey Jesus the Christ who taught us all to hear believe and obey the Spirit of His Father ‘Our father’ in heaven (dwelling within him) which is Holy and is also dwelling in us when we are in him (in his way = in his name) and He (Holy Spirit of our Father) is speaking for us as we repeat what God himself has given to us to preach (without changing it to be deceptive about Gods will for men by the desires of anyone's flesh). When men reject what God through Jesus has given us to say they are rejecting not only us but they are rejecting Jesus before men who Jesus has sent and they are rejecting the one who sent Jesus to send us with the Word of God as spoken by the only Christ who is the only giver of Gods will uncorrupted by flesh. No man comes to the way (Spirit) of Jesus Christ unless the Father draws him, and the father draws him when he speaks in us as we speak in his name which equals his way, and his Spirit in us.
So invite the Father the Son and the Holy Ghost do within us what Jesus tells us to do within him; which is to repeat what he has given us to repeat and that is the Gospel of Christ unchanged (for the sake of ministry or man) and in doing so the testimony of Jesus Christ is the Spirit of prophecy. Be a Good prophet and repeat what God himself has given you to say, to those who have no life in them and are still lost in the ways of the world that God Himself has "condemned already" until belief in His only begotten Son. Jesus Christ who is sent not to save the world, but rather to save those who will have 'Jesus Christ' to reign over them and free them from bondage to the ways of the world.
Jesus began his ministry with this most basic fundamental requirement for Christianity which means to be in the way of Jesus Christ, without this basic repentance; all else we do in the name of Christ is vain and we are using his name in vain without being born again into it (Life, Spirit, him and his name) spiritually.

Comments on repentance
Repentance requires a man to confess his sins to Christ and admit that he is a sinner.
After all who needs the savour when he does not really believe that he is a sinner in need of one to save him?
A man honors others by telling the truth and he honors himself by hearing it.
The truth is that Jesus says that the world is condemned already (because of Sin) until belief in him, not to admit that we are sinners who are condemned would be making Jesus a liar and leaving us not in belief in Christ the saviour who is the only way to Heaven and out of God’s condemnation of the sinful nature we were in until Christ led us out of it with his way which is given to us and is life to a dead men walking and know not that they are dead already.
Most people believe that a drunkard cannot over come himself until he admits that he is a drunkard, likewise a sinner cannot overcome himself until he admits he is a sinner and confesses his sins to God and also to man, but most importantly to himself.

The three general basics after repentance are to accept Jesus as your Lord; Hear, Believe and Obey the Gospel of Jesus the Christ.
Mt 23:8 -
But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
Mt 23:10 -
Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
Mt 24:5 -
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; (Christ = "anointed") and shall deceive many.
Mt 24:23 -
Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there;(Christ = "anointed") believe it not.
Mark 1:14-15
14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”

Christ = "anointed"
- Christ was the Messiah, the Son of God
- anointed

Jesus teaches that the first thing that men need to do after repenting is to believe the Gospel, his Gospel not another gospel preached by someone else.
It is still Good News if His gospel is preached by another as long as it is the very same gospel that Jesus gave us to preach without the deception of adding to it or leaving things out of it on purpose.
A real Servant of Christ preaches what he is told to preach not whatever he wants to preach.
The word Gospel means Good News and unfortunately very many well intended preachers are deceived by evil spirits that would have everyone believe the so called good news that they have about Gods will for mankind and these lying spirits claim to be the giver of Gods will in the Place of Christ.
Some spirits deny the reality of hell and the Lake of fire, some spirits would have you believe that you do not need to do the works of what Jesus tells men to do (which is his works not ours), some spirits will insist that Jesus is just another prophet like any other prophet speaking for God and that Jesus does not have the first and last word about Gods will for anyone who will have Christ as their Lord to rule over them with his very own words which reveal the right Spirit (HOLY) for us to have for us to have Life and to be saved from the wrath of God and condemnation for all the wrong spirits out there which are condemned already and within the shadow of things to come they are dead already (whether they know it or not) until belief in Christ and entering into the way of Christ is to be born again and born of the Spirit, the same Spirit (HOLY) that is sent to us in Jesus from God and is revealed to us within the Good News and the Gospel words of Christ.
According to God the work that is most definitely needed for salvation after repentance; is to believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ simply read it for your self spoken by someone who makes a liar out of everyone and I do mean everyone who disagrees with him.
Like those who deceptively say that you do not have to do anything at all, and then turn right around and tell you that you must do whatever they say you must do. This is all done so that the spirit of the enemy can destroy your own ability to reason and destroy your understanding of the Gospel of Christ so that they can replace it with a new one (theirs) leaving you outside the (outside the Spirit of God revealed by Christ) place God calls you to be in.
John 6:28-59
28 Then said they unto him, “What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?” 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, “This is the work of God that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”
John 3:18 -
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 3:22-36
30 He must increase, but I must decrease. 31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. 32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. 33 He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. 34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. 35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. 36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Lu 9:26 -
For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.
Mark 13:31 -
Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
John 5:37-47
37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. 38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent him ye believe not. 39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. 41 I receive not honour from men. 42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. 43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. 44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? 45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. 46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 47 but if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
Deuteronomy 18:15-22
15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; 16 According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. 17 And the LORD said unto me, “They have well spoken that which they have spoken. 18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.” 20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. 21 And if thou say in thine heart, how shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? 22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
John 12:44-50
44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. 45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. 46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. 47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 49 for I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
John 6:63 -
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
John 6:68 -
Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life.
John 8:47 -
He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
John 14:10 -
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
John 14:23 -
Jesus answered and said unto him, “If a man loves me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”
John 15:7 -
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
John 17:8 -
For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
Ro 1:16 -
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
2Ti 1:8 -
Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

Hearing the Gospel of Jesus
|
| |
Hearing the Gospel of Jesus the Christ is the second most basic step in Christianity after the first step of repentance.
|
Ro 10:14 -
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

A man who does not seek to hear (read) and understand (perceive) the Gospel of Jesus Christ is A man who has not repented.
Matthew 13:1-23
1 The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side. 2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore. 3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; 4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: 5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: 6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: 8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. 9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. 10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11 He answered and said unto them, because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. 12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. 13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. 14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. 16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. 17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. 18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. 19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. 20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; 21 yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. 22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. 23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
Matthew 12:38-45
38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. 39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: 40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. 42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. 43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. 44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. 45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
Mt 15:10 -
And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand

19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham saith unto him, “They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.” 30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, “If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.”
John 3:12 -
If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

Believe Jesus Christ!
|
| |
The Third most basic step in Christianity!
Is to believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Which is the will of God for us today and is called the new Covenant by God in the following scripture below, it is this new covenant that we must listen to, believe and Obey as Christians who follow the way (Covenant) of Christ our Lord.
Believe the Gospel (The New Covenant) and Know Gods will and know his Spirit.
Jeremiah 31:27-34
27 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast. 28 And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD. 29 In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge. 30 But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge. 31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
Believe
Lu 24:25 -
Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
Believe
Mark 1:14-15
14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
Believe
John 20:31 -
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
Believe
Lu 8:50 -
But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
Believe
John 1:7 -
The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light that all men through him might believe.
Believe
John 1:12 -
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Believe
John 3:1-21
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. 9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, how can these things be? 10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? 11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? 13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Notice the truth in these two statements made by the Lord and understand them together using scripture to interpret scripture.
John 12:47 -
And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
John 3:16-18
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
No judgment is necessary it would not serve any purpose because the world is already condemned anyway and to win some men into the same Spirit seen in Christ is all that is left for believers to do.
In other words why would we need to condemn or make a judgment about a world that has already been condemned until belief in Jesus Christ, by our Father in heaven?

31 If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. 32 There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true. 33 Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth. 34 But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved. 35 He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. 36 But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. 37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. 38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.

37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) 40 Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet. 41 Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee? 42 Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was? 43 So there was a division among the people because of him. 44 And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.

Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. 42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. 43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. 44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. 25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. 26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 30 I and my Father are one. 31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. 32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? 33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. 34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? 35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; 36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? 37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. 38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

17 Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already. 18 Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off: 19 And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother. 20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house. 21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. 22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. 23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. 24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. 25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? 27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. 28 And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee. 29 As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him. 30 Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him. 31 The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there. 32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
John 11:33-44
33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, 34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. 35 Jesus wept. 36 Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him! 37 And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died? 38 Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it. 39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. 40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? 41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. 42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. 43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. 44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
